The Whirlwind, previously knows as the Human Top, decides to take a long awaited revenge against Goliath, his greatest enemy. To reach his goal, the Whirlwind breaks into Avengers HQ where only Goliath and the Wasp were working on some experiments, and shrinks them to ant-size, with Pym’s own reduce ray. After dropping them in a tank full of red ants, he plants a bomb just before Quicksilver and Captain America storm in to fight the intruder. In the meantime, Jan kills the ant queen, and thus tames all the other ones. So whilst Cap and Quicksilver fight the Whirlwind, Hank and Jan manage to warn the two Avengers about the imminent explosion by a voice amplifier. Quicksilver throws the time-bomb in a river just in time, while Cap restores Hank and Jan’s size back to normal, but within this commotion, the Whirlwind manages to escape.
