While the High Evolutionary performs some experiments on Banner, the savage New Men storm the lab and attack both. Bruce Banner turns to the Hulk while the High Evolutionary gets severely wounded. He activates the evolution ray on himself with his remaining strength, becoming an all-powerful cosmic entity, who turns the New Men back to their animal nature and casts the Hulk back to earth.
