Doctor Strange, stuck between a giant Behemoth and Yandroth, gets shot by the last one and by avoiding the blast, ends up drifting hopelessly in the dimension of dreams. Only with the aid of the Ancient One he manages to stop his endless fall and join back his foe, who shot down the Behemoth in Strange’s absence. The master of mystic arts takes advantage of Yandroth’s surprise in seeing him still alive, and hurls him into nothingness, causing him to fall endlessly through the dimension of dreams, as Strange did not long ago. Meanwhile, Victoria is being chased by a horde of angry Vikings and cries for help. Doctor Strange saves her at the last minute and both manage to return to earth, just before the Ancient One breaks the link between the two world, exhausted by his great feat.
This is the last Doctor Strange story in the Strange Tales issues. He’ll be back in his very own magazine Doctor Strange #169 in June 1968. The serie started in Strange Tales #110 (July 1963) and ran for almost five years. After this issue, Strange Tales got discontinued.
