Doctor Strange challenges Mordo, revealing him how the Ancient One died to grant him additional powers. Doctor Strange’s powerful spells force Mordo to witness the trial of the Living Tribunal and thus he accepts to join Strange in a mass exorcism, in order to expel the essence of evil from all the gathered black magic practitioners. Once the transfer is done, Mordo, now more powerful than ever, knocks out Doctor Strange and flees.
